The blog:

I’m an avid film watcher and every part of my life seems to link back to film somehow. This blog is essentially a documentation of things I watch and like when it comes to film 🙂

The author:

I’m Jade, 24, live in Portsmouth, England, and finished studying Film (BA Hons) at university, gaining a First class degree, in 2013. I am currently studying an MA in Film Theory at the University of Southampton. I spend way too much time researching film at the BFI, whether by perusing the books in the library, viewing films in the mediatheque or cinema, or spending way too much money in the BFI shop.

I have written in issues 4: CUT TO [Obsession], 5: CUT TO: [Magic], and issue 6: CUT TO [Space] of Diegesis film magazine. I also have a review of Ciaron Foy’s Citadel published on the Diegesis website which you can read more about and find a link to here.

I have also written for the undergraduate journal in America, Film Matters (my first piece – a review of the Short Cuts: Heritage Film book by Belén Vidal was released in issue 3.4. My review of The Master (Paul Thomas Anderson, 2012) was released in issue 4.2.

Ultimately my ambition is, once I have finished my Masters in Film, go on to writing a PhD, and pursue a career in lecturing on Film and writing academically about the subject. I would also love to contribute an article to Sight and Sound, and work for the BFI someday as I am a huge supporter of them and everything that they do for British film. I have a particular fondness for and interest in archiving and restoration, from the research of finding lost films in archives, to the repairing of old and damaged film prints, to the re-releasing of restored films.
