Oscar nominations 2014

Oscars

Perhaps the biggest film ceremony of the year is almost here – the Academy Awards 2014, and today, the nominations have been announced!! There are a fantastic and diverse range of films that have been nominated, but a few shockers too. Why has Tom Hanks not been nominated for Best Actor for his roles in Saving Mr Banks and Captain Phillips? Blackfish wasn’t even nominated for Best Documentary, and Blue is the Warmest Colour got no nods for Best Foreign Film.

It looks like American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave will both scoop up a hefty amount of awards, but we’ll have to wait til the actual ceremony to find out the winners.
