Helena Bonham Carter and Dominic West to portray Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton’s highly documented relationship

Helena Bonham Carter, an actress who oozes elegance, will be performing in yet another biopic of a classically loved female figure. This time, as the stunning Hollywood film star Elizabeth Taylor. She will be joined by Dominic West who will star as the slightly rugged Richard Burton.

Taylor and Burton are one of Hollywood’s golden couples, marrying in 1964 before divorcing in 1974, leading to an off and on again relationship. The biopic focuses on the duo in the Broadway revival of Private Lives (a Noel Coward 1983 play)., and will be a BBC film,

written by William Ivory, the man responsible for Brit hit Made In Dagenham. With the acting and screenwriting talent on board, this looks set to be

a promising film, especially as the BBC have produced so many cracking biopics before (some of which have starred Bonham Carter). After all, it couldn’t be worse than last November’s TV movie attempt (directed by Lloyd Kramer), Liz & Dick, starring Lindsay Lohan as the Goddess Liz Taylor.
